Van Vihar National Park

There are many creatures to see, including leopards, cheetahs, Neelgai, and panthers, as well as birds like kingfishers, bulbuls, wagtails, and several migratory species. The ideal months to visit are July and September, when the chances of spotting a white tiger are greatest. This protected area, which covers an area of 4.45 square kilometres, protects animals from poaching and other unlawful activities.

The national park divides animals into two groups: carnivores and herbivores. Carnivores are maintained in contained spaces, whilst herbivores are free to wander. Van Vihar’s Flora and Fauna
The Flora and Fauna of the National Park are diverse. The animals found here are either orphaned or transported from other locations for their well-being, while the birds visit throughout their migration. Flora: The vegetation is characteristic of the southern dry deciduous scrub woodlands. Doodhi, Bel, Amaltas, Saja, Amla, Teak, Palas, Kardhai, and Tendu are the main species. There are other grasses such Dub, Kusai, Lapusari, Bhanjura, and Phulera. Bangoon Creeper, Karech, Gomachi, and Malkangni are among the creepers.

Captives include the Bengal Tiger, White Tiger, Indian Wolf, Wild Cats, Sloth Bear, Red Fox, Striped Hyena, Indian Jackal, Wild Dog, Mugger, Crocodile, Gharial, Mongoose, Snakes, and Python.

Red Monkey, Sambhar, Blackbuck, Blue Bull, Nilgai, Chausingha, Wild Boar, Cheetal, Porcupine, Hare, Common Langur, Rhesus Macaque, and others are herbivores. Because these creatures are safe, they are released in regions comparable to their native environment.

Avian Fauna- During their migratory season, a huge number of birds visit the park. Around 200 bird species have been identified so far, including the Oriental white-backed vulture. A vulture breeding centre was established in the 2010s to help restore the numbers of Oriental white-backed vultures. Pintail, spot bills, brahminy duck, gadwall, red-crested pochard, peacocks, and other birds, as well as 60 kinds of vibrantly coloured butterflies, may be found here.
