Itinerary

Day 1Arrive Delhi

Mystery, magic, mayhem. Welcome to Delhi, City of Djinns, and 25 million people. Like an eastern Rome, India’s capital is littered with the relics of lost empires. A succession of armies stormed across the Indo-Gangetic plain and imprinted their identity onto the vanquished city, before vanishing into rubble and ruin like the conquerors who preceded them. Modern Delhi is a chaotic tapestry of medieval fortifications, Mughal mausoleums, dusty bazaars, colonial-era town planning, and mega malls.

Arrive at Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport. Meet with our company representative, warm welcome with fresh flower garlands & then transfer to hotel in your private car.

Rest of the free to self-explore Delhi as per your choice today.

Overnight in Delhi.

Day 2Delhi

Breakfast at your hotel. Start your tour of Delhi at 0830hrs from your hotel lobby where your tour guide/driver will be waiting for you.

First stop would be Raj Ghat, this peaceful, very well maintained park contains a simple black-marble platform marking the spot where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated following his assassination in 1948.

Next you will be driven to Old Delhi market, just before entering the market you will embark on a ‘Rickshaw’ to steer through tiny lanes of Chandni Chowk. Ride past the majestic Red Fort & through the main Chandni Chowk street straight to Khari Baoli; Asia’s biggest wholesale spice market selling all kinds of spices, herbs, nuts & food products like rice, tea etc. Hop on to your rickshaws and pass through the tiny lanes of Kinaari Bazaar; lane for Indian attire accessories like borders etc, Dariba Kalan; lane for Silver market. Hop off and bid bye to your Rickshaw Puller at Jama Masjid; A beautiful pocket of calm at the heart of Old Delhi’s mayhem, the capital’s largest mosque is built on a 10m elevation. It can hold a mind-blowing 25,000 people.

Post visiting the Jama Masjid, a 15-minute walk through Chawri Bazaar Lane to arrive at the Metro Station. Take a ride in the Delhi Metro; started in 2002 is lifeline of the capital city.

Arrive at Saket, metro station, come out and find your vehicle waiting for you there & arrive at Qutub Minar; The Qutab Minar, soaring Afghan-style victory tower and minaret, erected by sultan Qutb-ud-din in 1193 to proclaim his supremacy over the vanquished Hindu rulers of Qila Rai Pithora.

Visit a Kashmiri Co-operative, enjoy a Kashmiri Tea ‘Kahwa’ here when you witness the artisians presenting their local arts & products.

Later, transfer to your hotel. Overnight.

Day 3Delhi - Agra

Breakfast at your hotel. At 0830 hrs, join your local guide for a tour through Delhi.

Arrive at Humayun’s Tomb, Humayun’s tomb is sublimely well proportioned, seeming to float above its symmetrical gardens. It’s thought to have inspired the Taj Mahal, which it predates by 60 years.

Visit, Lotus Temple for a short exterior photography stop; drive through Parliament’s street, & around the Rashtrapati Bhawan. Short photography stop at India Gate; This imposing 42m-high stone memorial arch was designed by Lutyens in 1921. It pays tribute to around 90,000 Indian Army soldiers who died in WWI, the Northwest Frontier operations and the 1919 Anglo-Afghan War. (note: photography stop at India Gate is strictly subject to security clearance and subject to vehicle parking availability at the day)

Arrive at the Bangla Sahib Gurudwara; This magnificent white-marble gurdwara (Sikh temple), topped by glinting golden onion domes, was constructed at the site where the eighth Sikh guru, Harkrishan Dev, stayed before his 1664 death.

Day 4Agra – Fatehpur Sikri - Jaipur

Early morning wake-up call and sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal. (timings would vary as per season). Sunrise is by far the best time to visit the Taj Mahal. Not just because the early morning light turns the dome of the temple a soft, golden colour, but because this is the time when there are the least amount of tourists. Described by Bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore as “a teardrop on the face of eternity”, the Taj Mahal is undoubtedly the zenith of Mughal architecture.

Arrive at Taj Mahal Complex and take the battery car to Taj Mahal’s entrance & back to the parking lot. Return to hotel, daily routine & breakfast at the hotel. We check out at 1030hrs from hotel & visit Agra Fort; Agra has one of the finest Mughal forts in India. Visit a Marble Workshop; local artisans showcase their skill of Marble Inlay work in these workshops. The artisans in Agra are believed to be the descendants of the artists who were actual workers of Taj Mahal.

Later drive to Jaipur. En-route visit Fatehpur Sikri

Fatehpur Sikri; at the one-time capital of the Mughal empire, Fatehpur Sikri (approximately 4 hours). Its stunning mosque displays both Persian and Hindu design and is secured by a 54-metre high entrance.

On arrival in Jaipur, check in & overnight at hotel.

Day 5Jaipur

Breakfast at hotel. At 0800 hrs, join your local guide for a tour through Jaipur.

During downhill, visit a very heritage structure – Panna-Meena ka kund, which is a square-shaped stepwell, with adjoining stairs on all four sides and a room on the northern wall.

We will make our way back to the city, en-route we will stop at Jal Mahal, Possibly the most serene sight amidst the chaos of Jaipur is the beautiful Jal Mahal Jaipur, the Water Palace. Short stops at the Jewel & Carpet Workshops in Jaipur are must to witness how the local artisans create marvels from raw materials.

Lunch at a Jal Mahal view restaurant.

Our vehicle will now park in the City Palace parking. This will be our base for this afternoon and evening, remember where you vehicle in and return here post tour. Your local guide will escort you to Jantar Mantar, a large grassy enclosure containing eighteen huge stone astronomical measuring devices constructed between 1728 and 1734. At the heart of the Pink City stands the magnificent City Palace, originally built by Jai Singh in the 1720s and having lost none of its original pomp and splendour.

Post City Palace, walk to the Hawa Mahal for a photography stop. Here, get some free time in the world famous Jaipur’s local markets. Return to your vehicle at the pre-defined time.

Transfer & overnight at hotel.
