India is home to many religions besides Hinduism. One of these is Buddhism, which spread beyond India’s borders to East, South, and South East Asia. Gautam Buddha was born in Lumbini as King Siddhartha, who was a prince. He started his trip to India to find answers to many questions he had about life and suffering. After many years of meditation, he finally reached “nirvana” (enlightenment). After that, he preached and taught sermons until he left Kushinagar to go live in heaven.
The Buddhist Circuit Tour takes you to four very important places in Buddha’s life: where he was born, where he got enlightened, where he gave his first sermon, and where he died. In the Buddhist Circuits, the important places of Lumbini, Bodhgaya, Sarnath, and Kushinagar are linked to the life and teachings of Lord Buddha. In addition to these, Buddha also went to a number of other important places during his life.
