Day 1 Mumbai (Arrival)

Welcome aboard the Deccan Odyssey.Assemble at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus at around 1530 hours to complete the registration process and check in formalities for the Maharashtra Splendor journey. Enjoy a traditional welcome and later savor a refreshing welcome drink.

After completing all the formalities, settle in as the Deccan Odyssey leaves from Mumbai to Nashik.Enjoy dinner onboard and stay overnight.

Day 2 Nashik

Deccan Odyssey reaches the holy city of Nashik this morning. Munch your breakfast onboard and then disembark to enjoy a stroll along the Godavari Ghats. Observe different Hindu rituals being performed at the Ghat.

Further, walk through the market set by the Ghats. Right from vegetables to cow dung cakes, lentils to dried seafood, everything is sold in the market.

Later, drive towards Grover Zampa vineyards and take a tour into the one of the finest Indian wine producing vineyards. Have a look at the vines lined up with Chenin, Chardonnay and Shiraz grapes.

The tour gives you an insight of the ancient methods- ‘méthode traditionnelle’ that are still used for preparing the best sparkling wines in India. The sommelier at the vineyard will serve you from the finest collections of white, red, rose and sparkling wines. Pair your favorite wine with some delicious food.

Day 3  Aurangabad – Ellora Caves

This morning, Deccan Odyssey enters Aurangabad, the industrial town of Maharashtra. Taking its name from the last Great Mughal Emperor, Aurangzeb, the city features Mughal culture in every nook and corner. Savor your breakfast onboard and then disembark. Start driving towards Ellora Caves, UNESCO World Heritage Site and the star attraction of Aurangabad. One of the finest examples of cave temple architecture in India, the site of Ellora Caves has 34 rock-cut shrines that represent Buddhist, Jain and Hindu art that date back to the 4th and 5th centuries AD. There 12 Buddhist caves to the south, 17 Hindu caves in the center and 5 Jain caves to the north. The star attraction of the caves is Kailash temple, which is believed to be a replica of Lord Shiva’s celestial abode on Mt. Kailash. Enjoy lunch onboard as the Deccan Odyssey. Lay back and relax with your favorite cocktails from the bar onboard. Follow this by some delicious food and take rest. Day 4  Ajanta Caves

As you treat yourself with delicious breakfast onboard, the Deccan Odyssey arrives at Jalgaon station. Disembark after having your breakfast and start driving to Ajanta Caves, another UNESCO World Heritage site. The site has 30 rock-cut Buddhist caves that are beautifully carved and feature sculptures and paintings of Buddhist religious art. These paintings and sculptures depict universal pictorial art. Savor lunch onboard the Deccan Odyssey as it leaves for the colorful city of Kolhapur. Take some rest for the day and enjoy recreational activities onboard. Watch a movie or enjoy a game of carrom or get a relaxing massage in the spa on board. In the evening, enjoy your favorite drink with dinner. Dinner on board & Overnight on Deccan Odyssey.

Day 05 Kolhapur

Have a look at the surroundings of Maharashtra as the Deccan Odyssey rolls into the city of Kolhapur. Relish breakfast onboard and spend some time at leisure. Disembark for a city tour of Kolhapur after having your lunch onboard. Pay a visit to the New Palace Museum, a beautiful octagonal Palace that dates back to the 19th century. Flip back the pages of Kolhapur’s history with the architecture of the palace. Visit the Town Hall Museum, which is a somber neo-Gothic building. Go for some shopping at the local market of Kolhapur. Buy yourself a pair of beautifully handcrafted Kolhapuri chappals, the main attraction of the city. Leave for your special venue where you will be served tea. Enjoy Lavanya Sandhya, a folk performance. Seek blessings at Mahalakshmi temple, 1300 year old temple, also known as Shakti Pethas. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Shakti, the consort of Lord Vishnu. Post this, witness a traditional martial arts performance called ‘Mardani Khel’. Return back to the Deccan Odyssey for dinner. The Deccan Odyssey departs for India’s party capital, Goa. Dinner on board & Overnight on Deccan Odyssey.

Day 06 Goa

Today, you arrive in India’s most happening state, Goa. Have your breakfast and then get down and begin with Goa’s sightseeing tour. Drive to Fontainhas, the Latin Quarters in Panjim that has some well-preserved houses built in complete Portuguese style of architecture. Explore the culture and architecture of the Portuguese with UNESCO World Heritage Walk around Fontainhas. Thereafter, leave for Ribandar, the erstwhile capital of Goa. Take a walk through ancient churches and the ruins of the St. Augustine tower which was once the pride of Goa. Enjoy a drive to the Sahakari spice plantation for a traditional Goan feast which is a meal taking major influence from 400 years Old Portuguese rule. Feni, shrimps, kingfish and mackerel are most important portions of the meal. After lunch, enjoy a Goan folk performance and a tour of the spice plantation. Take a sneak peek into Goan life with a visit to an Old Portuguese house. Go back to the Deccan Odyssey for dinner as it departs leaves for Ratnagiri. Have a look at one of the most scenic railway route as the Deccan Odyssey transverses through the Konkan region. Dinner on board.Overnight on Deccan Odyssey.

Day 07 Sindhudurg

On day 7 of the journey, the train enters Sindhudurg, placed on a rugged island, just off the coast of Malvan. Savor breakfast on-board the train. Later, disembark the Deccan Odyssey for exploring the holy town of Sindhudurg. Back to the luxury train for lunch, followed by second leg of sightseeing. Return to the train in the evening. As the train starts its journey back to Mumbai, enjoy dinner.Overnight stay on Deccan Odyssey.

Day 08 Mumbai (Departure)

This early morning, have your breakfast and disembark at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Railway Station, Mumbai. Say goodbye to your royal passage the Deccan Odyssey as your beautiful journey comes to an end.

Day 1 Arrival in Delhi- Sawai Madhopur (Ranthambore)

Guests gather at the railway station at 2015 hours and complete the formalities related to check-in and reservations. A traditional welcome with welcome drink is arranged for the guests and are then taken to their respected cabins. As guests relax, the train leaves for the next destination Sawai Madhopur. Dinner and overnight stay onboard.

Day 2 Sawai Madhopur- Ranthambore National Park

The train reaches Sawai Madhopur, which is mainly popular for Ranthambore National Park. Have your breakfast and set out for the game drive. Ranthambore National Park is one of the biggest and most popular national parks in North India. The park is also a tiger reserve. Other than tigers you can spot nilgai antelope, chinkara gazelles, sambhar deer, chital, leopard, crocodile, jungle fowl, quails, partridges, crested serpent eagle, flycatchers, woodpeckers, among others. Return to the train for lunch and relax for a while. Later, proceed for a village tour and interact with locals. After this, it is time for high-tea at the Sawai Madhopur Lodge, which served as a royal hunting ground for the erstwhile royal family of Jaipur. Return to the train as it leaves for Agra. Overnight stay and dinner onboard.

Day 3 Agra

On the third day of the tour, you luxury train reaches the City of Taj, Agra. Have your breakfast onboard and proceed to visit Taj Mahal. This white-marble mausoleum was built by Emperor Shah Jahan for his wife. Today it stands as a testimony of true love and magnificent architecture. Lunch is arranged in a city hotel, after which you visit Itmad-ud-Daulah (Also known as Baby Taj). This tomb belongs to Ghiyas Beg and was commissioned by his daughter Nur Jahan, years before the Taj Mahal. Afterwards explore the popular Agra Fort. Later, you can shop in the local markets or opt for massages in a spa. Return to the comforts of the luxury train and stay overnight.

Day 4 Jaipur

Welcome to the Pink City today, the capital of Rajasthan, Jaipur. Once you have your breakfast, leave for Amer Fort. This is a star attraction of the city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site along with other Hill Forts of Rajasthan. The fort was built in the 17th century by Maharaja Mansingh, but its grace and charm don’t seem to have faded. While on the way to Amer Fort, you can stop at other attractions of Jaipur, such as Hawa Mahal, City Palace and Jantar Mantar. Hawa Mahal is an iconic spot, with intricately placed windows that look like a honeycomb. Jantar Mantar is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and houses world’s largest stone sundial. Lunch is to be arranged in a city hotel. After lunch, you can either indulge in a spa session in a city hotel or take a stroll in the colorful markets of Jaipur which are stocked with handicraft, paintings, bangles, lehenga cholis and other knick-knacks. Return to the comforts of your luxury train, have dinner and stay overnight as it leaves for the next destination- Udaipur.

Day 5 Udaipur 

The train arrives in the City of Lakes, Udaipur, on the fifth day of your tour. Owing to the spectacular backgrounds of the Aravali Range and scintillating lakes, Udaipur is also known as Venice of the East. Breakfast is served onboard. First site of the day is City Palace, the largest complex in Rajasthan with a beautiful Crystal Gallery in it. Then, take a ferry on the Lake Pichola in order to reach Jagmandir Palace. This is where lunch is to be served, accompanied with the taps of Tabla and rhythm of Jal Tarang. The palace dates back to 17th century and looks upon a brilliant view of the Aravalis. Return to Deccan Odyssey and relax for some time. After this, take a heritage-walk through the Old City of Jaipur. Board the train yet again in the evening. Dinner is served onboard as the train leaves for Vadodara. Overnight stay onboard.

Day 6 Vadodara

As you reach the Capital of Gaekwads, Vadodara, have your breakfast and disembark for visiting the Champaner-Pavagadh Archeological Park (UNESCO World Heritage Site). This is the only unchanged and complete Islamic city in India that belongs to the Pre-Mughal era. In one of its attractions (Jami Masjid), a blend of Hindu and Islamic architecture is seen. Drive back to the train and savor leisure lunch. Later, visit Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum, which in the erstwhile era served as an educational institute for the children of royal households. Today, however it has turned into a treasure for an art-aficionado. Enjoy high tea at the Laxmi Vilas Palace, the royal residence even today. The palace was built in 1890 and is four times the size of Buckingham Palace. There also is a collection of old armory and sculptures made of marble, terracotta and bronze. Treat your taste-buds with local delicacies and your eyes with the cultural show. Return onboard as the dinner gets served and the train chugs off for Aurangabad. Overnight stay onboard.

Day 07 Aurangabad- Ellora Caves

On the seventh day of the tour, you reach Aurangabad, the Mughal city named after its Great Emperor Aurangzeb. The morning is to be spent at leisure, so can enjoy an unhurried breakfast session. The train arrives in Aurangabad as the lunch gets served. Take a scenic drive to Ellora Caves (UNESCO World Heritage Site). This consists of 30 rock-cut shrines that represent Hindu, Buddhist and Jain forms of art, dating back to a time between 4th and 5th century AD. Return to the comforts of luxury train once you are done exploring Ellora Caves. Enjoy sun-downer at Mumbai-Hi in the evening, followed by dinner. Overnight stay onboard.

Day 08 Mumbai

The Deccan Odyssey reaches the final leg of its tour, Indian Odyssey, on the eighth day. The train stations at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Railway Station of Mumbai. After having breakfast onboard, guests disembark and bid farewell to the Deccan Odyssey.

Day 1 Mumbai

Early evening, guests are expected to assemble at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus at 1530 hours, and complete their registration and check-in formalities. Enjoy the royal and traditional Indian welcome by the staff followed by a refreshing drink. Later, you are taken to your respective cabins. Settle and relax as the Deccan Odyssey as the train leaves for Bijapur in Karnataka. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2 Bijapur

Today morning enjoy your breakfast, as the luxury train rolls into Bijapur. Established by Kalyani Chalukyas between 10th and 11th centuries, Bijapur is a popular city in Karnataka. It is the historic capital of Sultans of Deccan. When Bijapur was under the support of Adil Shah dynasty, the city was one among the renowned cities of the country surpassing great cities like that of Agra and Delhi. In fact, with the generous support of Adil Shahi Sultans, Bijapur was majorly flocked by scholars, poets, painters, dancers, calligraphers, musicians and Sufi saints. Later, the place was also titled as the ‘Palmyra of the Deccan’. Begin your trip with a visit to the first attraction, Gol Gumbaz; the second largest tomb in the world and mausoleum of Adil Shah, the Sultan of Bijapur. As the name suggests, the Gol Gumbaz is a round dome, the structure of the dome celebrates the success of Deccan architecture. The dome constitutes of a circular gallery, which has an amazing aspect of echoing, every little murmur. Later, you proceed ahead to Jumma Masjid (one of the first mosques of India), Malik-e-Maidan (the largest medieval canon in the world), Mehtar Mahal (it is a 17th century ornamental entrance to a mosque), Ibrahim Rouza (one of the Islamic monuments comprising of a 24 m high minarets). Get back to the comforts of Deccan Odyssey for lunch. While you savor delicious lunch, enjoy the striking passing landscape from your cabins. The luxury train further heads to Aihole and Pattadakal. Dinner and night stay onboard.

Day 3 Aihole – Pattadakal

Third day is set out to explore the holy shrines and age-old attractions of Aihole and Pattadakal. Here, you get to see temples built by Chalukyan kings. Proceed to Pattadakal, which boasts of a mélange of South Indian (Dravidian) and North Indian (Nagara) construction styles. Return back to relish lunch onboard. After lunch, you can opt for a short trip to impressive weaving village of Guledgudda, where you can see hand and power looms of Ilkal and Khan. Get familiarize with the weaving process. If not this, you can enjoy sightseeing at Badami, its rock-cut caves and beautifully sculptured temples. Dinner and night stay onboard Deccan Odyssey and continue your journey to Hampi.

Day 4 Hampi

Today morning, have your breakfast as the train reaches Hospet. Visit the well-known World Heritage Site- Hampi, which is extremely popular for its brilliant constructions of ancient monuments. First you visit the most important attraction of Hampi, Narasimha statue. Later, you head to Mustard Ganesh. Here, you can see an elephant God statue. Enjoy the architectural splendors around and take a long walk along the banks of the Tungabhadra River. After visiting Virupaksha Temple, you proceed to visit Vittala Temple, which exhibits the architecture of Vijayanagara Empire. Travel back to Hospet for lunch on the luxury train. Take rest and again get ready to explore Royal Center at Hampi. The center constitutes of courtly and military structures that were once the citadel of Vijayanagara Kings. Thereafter, you visit Queen’s Bath (ancient-royal stepped tank), Mahanavami Dibba or great platform, Hazararama Temple, Queens Enclosure along with its Lotus Mahal and the Elephant stables. As soon as you are done with exploring in and around Hampi, get back to Hospet Station to board Deccan Odyssey. Day 5 Hyderabad

On day five, Deccan Odyssey enters Hyderabad, which is famed as the royal city of Nizams. Formerly, Hyderabad was named after Bhagmati, who was the Hindu wife of Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah, later changed to Islam religion with a name Hyder Mahal. Take your breakfast and proceed to visit Golconda; the epitome of Nizami culture and grandeur. It is a mud fort which became the seat of Qutub Shahi dynasty. Return to the comforts of the luxury train for lunch and some rest. You may also stroll around the vibrant bazaars of Hyderabad, where you can put your hands on shopping articles such as pearls, lace bangles and ittars. During lunch time, savor the popular food of Hyderabad, mouth-watering Biryani. Later, you head to explore the Falaknuma Palace.

Day 6 Aurangabad – Ellora Caves

The Deccan Odyssey arrives Aurangabad this morning. The city has been named after the last Great Mughal emperor, Aurangzeb. Because of the same, one can spot major Mughal influences in every nook and corner of the city. Aurangabad is home to a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Ellora Caves. Have your breakfast and then drive towards the exceptional Ellora Caves. The caves are considered one of the finest examples of cave-temple architecture in India. The site includes 34 rock-cut caves that represent Hindu, Buddhist and art that dates back to the 4th to 5th century AD. There are 12 Buddhist caves to the south, 17 Hindu caves in the center, and the 5 Jain caves to the north. The most important attraction of the caves is the Kailash temple. As you enjoy your breakfast onboard, the Deccan Odyssey arrives at the Jalgaon station. Disembark and drive to the Ajanta Caves, another UNESCO World Heritage site. The site of Ajanta Caves includes 30 rock-cut Buddhist caves that have been beautifully carved. All the caves feature sculptures and paintings of Buddhist religious art. Savor lunch onboard the Deccan Odyssey. After having your lunch, disembark and pay a visit to a Mahatma Gandhi’s memorial, who was one of the most important leaders of the country. There is much to learn at the Gandhi Teerth that pays honor to the man who walked on the path of non-violence. The man who quoted “My religion is based on truth and non-violence. Truth is my God. Non-violence is the means of realizing Him.” In the evening, enjoy a sun downer while watching the real beauty of rural India. Day 1 Mumbai (Arrival)

After arriving in Mumbai, assemble at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus at around 15:30 hours. Enjoy a traditional welcome with garland and teeka on your forehead. Complete the check-in formalities and paperwork. Settle in your luxury cabins. As the train departs for Aurangabad. Dinner and overnight on- board.

Day 2 Aurangabad – Ellora Caves

Enjoy sumptuous breakfast, as the train enters Aurangabad, named after Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. The city is not only an important industrial town of Maharashtra state but is also popular for housing a number of Mughal architectural gem. After breakfast, the morning is at leisure- you can stay on-board and enjoy the facilities of the Deccan Odyssey or you can also go for a rejuvenating spa session at a popular city hotel. Later on, after an early lunch, get all set to explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ellora Caves, a fine example of India’s cave –temple architecture. These 34 rock-cut caves are dedicated Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism and contain engravings, sculptures depicting the same. The next visit is to the splendid Daulatabad fort, lying atop a hill. Constructed in the 12th century, this fort comprises of a number of structures such as Elephant Tank, Jami Masjid, Chini Mahal, Chand Minar and more. Back to the luxury train Deccan Odyssey to get refreshed. Day 3  Aurangabad

On the third day of the tour, after a relaxed breakfast, disembark for sightseeing of Aurangabad. Start the city tour by visiting Bibi-ka-Maqbara. A replica of the Taj Mahal in Agra, it is the mausoleum of Dilras Banu, the beloved wife of Aurangzeb. Referred to as the ‘Taj of the Deccan’, the monument was constructed by Prince Azam Shah, her son. The next visit is to a weaving center that specializes in the weaving of Himroo fabric that is known for its connection with Aurangabad’s royalty since the 14th century. By later afternoon, back on-board the train to relax for some time. You are now free to partake in the recreational activities and enjoy the facilities of the Deccan Odyssey. In the evening, relish a cocktail/mocktail at the train’s lounge, Mumbai-Hi before you enjoy a tasty dinner. Stay overnight on the train.

 
Day 4  Ramtek (Pench National Park)

The day begins early as the train chugs into Ramtek. Your next visit is going to be an exciting one. Get all set for a game drive inside the very well-known Pench National Park. Pench is known for offering ample rafting opportunities. In the year 2011, the park won the Best Management Award. Getting its name from the Pench River that flows through it, this national park and tiger reserve, is known for its abundant flora and fauna including rich aquatic life. Some of the animals that you may spot include Gaur, Sambar, Cheetal, Nilgai, Tiger, Wild Dog, Wolf, Wild Pig and more. The park is home to as many as 285 species of birds. Some of the avifauna that are spotted in this national park include Malabar pied hornbills, Indian pittas, ospreys, grey-headed fishing eagles, white-eyed buzzards, storks, waterfowls, four endangered vulture species etc. Later, back on-board the Deccan Odyssey for brunch. In the afternoon, back to Ramtek station to go aboard the luxury train, Deccan Odyssey. A sumptuous dinner and an overnight stay on the Deccan Odyssey as it departs for the next destination, Tadoba.

Day 5 Tadoba

The rising sun wakes you up on day 7 as the train enters Chandrapur station. The first half of the day is for a wildlife safari inside Tadoba National Park and Tiger Reserve, fondly referred to as the Jewel of Vidharba’. This national park is known for housing a decent population of the big cats. Embark on an early morning safari inside the national park where you can spot a vast variety of wildlife including wild dogs, tigers, sloth bears, spotted cars, various deer species, leopards, wild pigs along with as many as 280 species of colorful birds. After morning’s game safari, enjoy a late breakfast at a wildlife resort. Admire the lovely scenery all around. Relax while watching a documentary on wildlife. Interact with the naturalist here. Post lunch, back on-board Deccan Odyssey that is stationed at Chandrapur station. Spend the evening unwinding while enjoying cocktails and lip-smacking dinner. Stay overnight on the train as it starts its journey Jalgaon, the next destination.

Day 6 Jalgaon – Ajanta Caves

On day 6 of the tour, the luxury Deccan Odyssey enters the Jalgaon station. Post breakfast on- board, get ready to visit the World Heritage Site of Ajanta Caves, another fine example of India’s rock-cut cave temple architecture. A total of 30 rock-cut caves, these are dedicated to Buddhism and a few to Hinduism. You can find carvings, paintings, religious art and sculptures related to both the religions. After this, back to the train for lunch on-board as it starts proceeding to Nashik- the ‘Wine Capital of India’. The rest of the day is going to be at leisure. Simply relax in the comforts of the luxury train. Day 07 Nashik

The train today chugs into the ancient holy city of Nashik, also popular for its wide wine production. Have a lavish breakfast on the train and disembark to enjoy a leisure walk along the banks (Ghats) of River Godavari. Witness various Hindu rituals that are being performed there. Proceed towards the local market of Nashik where you can get your hands on anything and everything. Later on, embark on an exclusive tour of a popular vineyard. Have a look at the special variety of grapes- Chenin, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Observe the age-old method through which sparkling wine in India is produced. The sommelier would offer the finest wine produces including white, red, rose and sparkling wines. Back on-board the train after lunch. Deccan Odyssey starts its journey for returning back to Mumbai. The rest of the day is at leisure. Dinner and Overnight stay on-board.

Day 08 Mumbai

The train enters Mumbai today. Have an early morning breakfast. Complete the check-out formalities and disembark from the Deccan Odyssey at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Railway Station.

Day 1 Mumbai (Arrival)

You would be starting with your wonderful journey from Mumbai. Gather at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus at 1530 hours. Upon arrival, guests would be greeted with a warm traditional Indian welcome, accompanied with a refreshing drink. Post registration, you will be escorted to your luxury cabins. With that, Deccan Odyssey will depart from Mumbai, for its first destination i.e Vadodra. Dinner on board. Overnight stay on Deccan Odyssey

Day 2 Vadodara

Located on the banks of Vishwamitri river, Vadodra is the the cultural epicenter of Gujarat. After you would be done relishing your morning breakfast, embark on a sightseeing trip of Vadodra. First, you would be visiting a world heritage site, Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological park. The park is renowned for its historic and cultural heritage properties, which are dotted all over its lush green landscape. Post that, visit the 15th century Mosque, Jama Masjid, the construction of which is a beautiful blend of Hindu-Muslim architecture. Sightseeing plans after lunch will include visit to Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum and Laxmi Vilas Palace. Laxmi Vilas Palace is a royal residence, which is even more sprawling than the Buckingham Palace. Plus, the intricate mosaic decorations on the windows and walls, exquisite collection of armory and sculptures are the prime highlights of Laxmi Vilas Palace. Enjoy a folk performance in the palace and after that, head back to Deccan Odyssey as it leaves for Vadodra. Dinner on board. High tea at Laxmi Vilas Palace. Overnight stay at Deccan Odyssey

Day 3 Palitana

Palitana in the state of Gujarat is a popular pilgrim spot. Right after your breakfast, embark on a visit to the renowned Jain temples, which are in a group of 900 at a hilltop. The first half of your day would be spend in the company of Jain Tirthankaras at the temples. Post that, return back to Deccan Odyssey as it churns its wheels towards Sasan Gir. Spend your afternoon at leisure in the comforts of Deccan Odyssey. Watch a movie, play board games or enjoy a relaxing massage in the onboard spa. Dinner on board. Overnight stay at Deccan Odyssey.

 
Day 4  Sasan Gir – Somnath

Start your day with an early morning drive to Sasan Gir (Gir Forest National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary). The wildlife sanctuary is a lone habitat of majestic Asiatic lions in India. A guide would be accompanying you in the wildlife tour. Sasan Gir is also suitable for bird watching. As you would be done with the sanctuary tour, head towards Somnath temple. But before that, enjoy a tribal dance show at the Gateway hotel. The 4th century Somnath temple is amongst the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines of Lord Shiva. Enjoy the setting sun as it washes away the corners of Somnath temple with its golden hues. Post that, return to Deccan Odyssey as it sets off for the Little Rann of Kutch. Breakfast on board. Lunch at the Gateway hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at Deccan Odyssey..

Day 5  Little Rann of Kutch

With the break of the dawn, Deccan Odyssey would be reaching the Viramgam station. Post breakfast, you would be heading towards the marshy salt desert of the Rann of Kutch. The Little Rann of Kutch is one of its kind tourist attraction in the world, as it is not defined as a lush green paradise, or a place of exotic beaches. Rather, it is a scenic white desert. As part of the desert jeep safari, guests would be visiting the Wild Ass Sanctuary. The habitat is known for its huge population of Indian Wild Asses. Besides, it is also a perfect place to spot exquisite variety of birds in large numbers. Post lunch, you would be embarking on a village safari tour of the Rann of Kutch. The region is home to numerous tribes like the Agarias and Rabari tribe. After that, return to your luxury train as it leaves for Patan. Breakfast and dinner on board. Lunch at the Rann Riders Safari Resort. Overnight on Deccan Odyssey.

Day 6  Modhera – Patan

Patan is an 8th century fortified town which is renowned for its forts, lakes, holy places and a world heritage site. Deccan Odyssey would be reaching this historic town by the morning. After having a sumptuous breakfast, head onto a drive to the sun temple at Modhera. Dedicated to the Sun God, the temple is an architectural masterpiece of sandstone. Besides the intricate carvings, the temple complex has a total of more than 108 shrines. After that, you would be visiting the world heritage site of Rani Ki Vav. This 11th century step well is one of the biggest in Gujarat and is a beautiful example of subterranean well architecture. Guests would also be visiting the traditional home of Patola sarees in Gujarat. Then, return back to Deccan Odyssey for lunch. Spend your evenings watching the tapestry of rural India as the luxury train makes it run towards Nashik. Overnight stay on Deccan Odyssey.

Day 07 Nashik

Dedicate this day to explore the whereabouts of Nashik. By the break of the dawn, Deccan Odyssey would be reaching the city. As you are done with your breakfast, embark on a visit to one of the most ancient Jain and Buddhist cave temples in India, Pandu Leni. Some of the caves are as old as 1st century BC, while the others belong to the period around 13th century. Nashik is also one of the largest wine producing states in India. Thus, guests would be taken to a visit to Grover Zampa vineyards, which is the finest wine facility in Nashik. Savor different wines of Chenin, Chardonnay and Shiraz grapes, brewed from traditional old methods. In the evenings, feel free to walk along the sacred Godavari Ghats. Post that, return to Deccan Odyssey as it makes it’s runway back home to Mumbai Lunch at vineyard, Dinner on board.

Day 08 Mumbai (Departure)

Bid farewell to Deccan Odyssey as it reaches Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Railway station in Mumbai. This marks the end of the wonderful Gujarat tour.

Day 1  Mumbai (Saturday)

Assemble at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus at around 15:30 hours and enjoy a warm traditional welcome. Complete the registration and check-in formalities for your journey. Relish a welcome drink. After finishing the paperwork, settle down in your cabins. You are now free to explore the luxury train, Deccan Odyssey as it departs for Vadodara.Dinner and overnight on- board.

Day 2 Vadodara (Sunday)

The train arrives to the first destination, Vadodara. Once the seat of the Gaekwad rulers, Vadodara is one of Gujarat’s most important cities. Post breakfast, disembark from the train. Your first visit is to the UNESCO World Heritage, Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park- the only Islamic pre-Mughal city that remained unchanged. The site comprises of water installations, religious buildings, palaces, agricultural structures, palaces and more. Later on, go aboard the luxury train for a sumptuous lunch.
Post lunch, visit Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum that is known not only for its fine collection of sculptures, paintings and more but also for its magnificent structure. This is followed by high teat at the wonderful Laxmi Vilas Palace, the residence of the Royalty even in the present times. Enjoy a special folk performances along with dishes from the kitchen of Royalty.
Back aboard Deccan Odyssey for an overnight stay. The train starts its journey towards Udaipur.

Day 3 Udaipur (Monday)

In the morning, the train chugs into the City of Lake, Udaipur that is quite popular for being one of the most romantic cities of India. Relish breakfast while admiring the lovely views of the Aravali ranges. Breakfast is followed by sightseeing tour of Udaipur. Explore the very well-known City Palace complex that was erected during the span of 400 years. The construction of this magnificent structure was started in 1559 by Maharana Udai Singh II on the eastern banks of Lake Pichola. This tour is followed by a boat ride on the placid waters of the Lake. Back aboard the train for lunch.
Lunch is followed by a walking tour of Old Udaipur. Get on your hands on some great stuff such as puppets, clothe lanterns, jewellery, wooden boxes, and other handicraft items. Back on-board the train for dinner and overnight stay. The train begins its journey for the next destination, Jodhpur.

 
Day 4 Jodhpur (Tuesday)

The train, on the 4th day enters the Sun City of Rajasthan- Jodhpur. The former capital of the Mar kingdom, Jodhpur boasts of the Thar Desert in the background and houses some amazing temples, forts and palaces. After breakfast, the day is at leisure and you have options to pick from- you can either visit a luxury hotel for a relaxing spa session or you can visit the Bishnoi tribal village along with potter and weavers villages. Get a sneak-peek into the life of the people living there.
Lunch on- board the luxury train is followed by tour of the Blue City. Now get all set to explore the mighty Mehrangarh Fort, placed amidst the brown sands of the Thar. One of country’s largest forts, it was erected by Rao Jodha in 1459, on a 150 m high hill. A part of it has been turned into a museum that consists of royal palanquins, armory, paintings, costumes, personal belongings of the royalty and more. Do not miss visiting the colorful Turban Gallery. This visit is followed by a wall around the city to get a sneak-peek into the life of the locals. Walk past the Old Clock Tower market and old but extremely striking havelis.
The evening is scheduled for specially arranged lip-smacking Marwar barbeque delicacies that you can savor in the royal courtyard the Mehrangarh Fort. Treat your eyes to the lovely views of the surroundings, while you are standing on the top.
Back to the train as it starts its journey towards the next destination, the Mughal City of Agra.

Day 5 Agra (Wednesday)

Morning arrival in Agra, home to some of the most magnificent architectural gems that were built by Mughal emperors during their reign. After a relaxed breakfast, get all set to enjoy a visit to the Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Built by Shah Jahan in the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, this white marble mausoleum took 22 years to get completed and is festooned with precious and semi-precious stones.
Relish lunch at a City Hotel. Lunch is followed by a visit to the Itmad-ud-Daulah tomb, nicknamed as the ‘Baby Taj’. Another lovely marble mausoleum that was commissioned by Nur Jahan, Emperor Jahangir’s wife in memory of her father, Ghiyas Beg. Do not miss noticing the wonderful latticework. Next visit is to the mighty Agra Fort, another Mughal architectural gem. While some part of the fort complex that is in red sandstone was constructed by Emperor Akbar, the other is in white marble, the favorite Emperor Shah Jahan. The complex has a number structures within its boundaries.
After sightseeing, you have options to choose from. You can either opt for a relaxing spa session at a popular city hotel or can visit the local markets of Agra popular for Mughal-style ornaments and special artefacts with marble-inlay.
Go on-board the Deccan Odyssey for dinner and overnight stay. The luxury train starts moving towards Sawai Madhopur.

Day 6 Sawai Madhopur – Ranthambore National Park (Thursday)

Day 6 is going to be an exciting one. The train chugs into its next destination, Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan, popular for the very well-known Ranthambore National Park. One of the largest national parks in the northern part of the country, it is known for housing a decent population of the big cats. It is quite famous for being one of India’s finest tiger reserves.
An early breakfast is followed a wildlife safari inside the national park. Along with the big cats, you can also spot other species such as Chinkara, Nilgai, Sambhar, Sloth Bear, Chital and more. Around 272 species of species of resident as well as migratory birds call this national park their home.
Back on-board the train for a lavish lunch. You can also embark on a village safari interacting with the turban-wearing men and colorful ghagra-choli wearing women. Interact with the locals. Thereafter, relish high-tea at a popular hunting lodge of the royal family of the region. Late evening, back aboard the train for dinner and overnight stay as it sets off for the Pink City of Rajasthan, Jaipur.

Day 07  Jaipur (Friday)

On the 7th day of the tour, you are going to explore capital city of Rajasthan, Jaipur, known for its vibrancy and splendor. Post breakfast, disembark from the luxury train and visit the mighty Amer fort (Amber fort). One of the state’s most famous forts, it was commissioned by Raja Man Sing way back in the 1592. While the top of the fort offers a nice view of the Maota Lake, it’s inside a number of wonderful structures. On the way to the Amer Fort, halt to explore Hawa Mahal, also known as Palace of Winds. This pink sandstone structure is known for its distinct and interesting honey cobweb-like construction. The next attraction that you explore today is the City Palace, a lovely complex known for its carved doorways, gardens, beautiful palaces, courtyards and a museum with a fine collection.
Walk past the UNESCO World Site- Jantar Mantar, an astronomical observatory that was built by Sawai Jai Singh in the 18th century. Enjoy sumptuous lunch in a city hotel. After this, you have options to choose from. You can either relax for senses by going for a spa session or you can visit the bustling and colorful local markets of Jaipur to get your hands on colorful handicrafts, traditional clothes, bangles, imitation jewellery and more.
In the evening, back to the train for an overnight stay.

Day 08 New Delhi

On the last day, the train returns back to Delhi. After an early morning breakfast, disembark from the train at the Delhi Cantt Railway Station.

Government Service tax of 5% is additional and will be charged extra on the published tariff.
As the train runs on the tracks of the Indian Railways, the itineraries are subject to change incase of any changes in the routing etc.

Children below 5 years of age shall be allowed free, subject to sharing of double bed with parents. This is subject to availability of double bed at the time of booking.

Child Policy
Deccan Odyssey does accommodate children but we ask parents to be mindful of the sophisticated adult atmosphere we endeavor to maintain.
One child up to 5 years of age shall be allowed free of cost in the Deluxe Cabin, subject to sharing of double bed with parents. This is subject to availability of double bed at the time of booking.
For families, with a child between 6-12 years of age, or, with two children with one child below 5 years and another between 6-12 years, we recommend the Presidential Suite which has a double bed in the bedroom and can be shared with a child below 5 years and a sofa cum bed in the living room which can accommodate the older child. In this case, the child/children will be accommodated free of cost.
In case of two children between 6-12 years of age travelling with their parents, you will have to take 2 cabins. The first child pays 25% of the adult fare and the second child will have to pay 50% of the adult fare. One of the parents will have to be present with the child / children in the cabin.
Please note that we do not have the facility for interconnecting cabins.
