Nowhere else in the majestic Himalaya will
you find such physical, cultural and religious
diversity which exists in the Kingdom of
Nepal. From the ancient animistic bon religion
of the western mountains and the Tibetan
Buddhist culture of the Sherpas of Everest,
to the rich polytheistic Hindu tradition
of the heartland of the kingdom. Nepal offers
a unique kaleiodoscope of culture. Combined
with the world's most spectacular mountains
and a truly warm and hospitable people, you
have all the ingredients for the most memorable
experiences of a lifetime.
Day 1 : Your Home - Kathmandu : Arrive
Kathmandu, our company executive will meet/assist
and transfer you to the Haatiban Resort (international
air tickets will be arranged by you).
Day 2 : Kathmandu : After
breakfast start sightseeing. Full day walk
to Champa Devi (2045 mts). Overnight at Haatiban
Resort.
Day 3 : Kathmandu - Lukla - Monju
: Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer
to the domestic airport for flight to Lukla.
Arrive Lukla and begin trek towards Monju.
Lunch break at Phakding. After lunch continue
trek to Monju. On arrival check in to Summit
Lodge - Monju. This trek takes appx 5 hrs.
Overnight at the lodge.
Day 4 : Monju : After breakfast
sightseeing around Monju. Monju is a small
but picturesque village comprising of about
25 houses and located at a small, narrow
valley at the base of the Thamserku mountain
(6608 mts) and Kaysaro and lies at an altitude
of 2850 mts. It is also at the junction between
the Thamserku and Dudh Kosi Kholas and is
just on the outside premises of the Sagarmatha
National Park.
On this acclimatising day the option of
a day excurssion to the Thakcho hill, which
lies a little above 3000 mts is very much
recommended. From this vantage point the
views of the Kongde Ri, Karelung, Thamserku
and the Numbur Himal is quite spectacular.
The total excursion will take about 4 hours.
Overnight at the lodge.
Day 5 : Monju - Tashinga : After
breakfast enter the National Park area and
very soon begin the accent to Namche Bazar,
the Sherpa heartland. Although the climb
uphill is rather steep it is quickly over,
between 2 to 3 hours maximum, and the busy
mountain town of Khumbu greets you with plenty
of activities of shops, restaurants, lodges
and a fine bakery. A short well deserved
lunch break also allows sometimes to explore
the narrow streets to Namche BAzar. Shortly
after the lunch begin the walk to Tashinga.
Overnight at Tashinga.
Day 6 : Thyangboche Monastery Excursion
: After breakfast start full day
excursion to the Thyangboche Monastery.
The trek heads first down the Imja Khola
and the village of Phunki Tenga before
the approximate one hour climb to Thyangboche.
Visit the most famous Sherpa monastery
of Thyangboche. After the brek for lunch
start heading back towards Tashinga for
overnight stay.
Day 7 : Mende : After breakfast
walk to Mende (3700 mts). Enroute visit Khumjung
village. This pretty village is famous for
the numerous undertakings that Sir Edmund
Hillary has initiated. A good stop for a
lunch break. Overnight at the Summit Lodge.
Day 8 : Thame Excursion : After
breakfast it will be a full day excursion
to Thame and on the return a visit to Thame
and the small but impressive Karag monastery
is one of the highlight of the trek. The
famous Sherpa mountaineer and a ten time
Everest summiter Mr. Ang Rita Sherpa (Snow
Leopard) also now resides in this village.
Overnight at Mende
Day 9 : Mende to Monju : Breakfast
at the lodge. Today we retrace the train
back towards Namche Bazaar and down to Jorsale
and then on to Monju. The trek time from
Mende to Monju is a confortable 5 hrs. Overnight
at the lodge in Monju.
Day 10 : Mende to Lukla : After
breakfast we start our last day retrace the
trail at a very comfortable pace to Lukla.
The trek time with a lunch break along the
Dudh Kosi river should not be longer than
5 hours.
Day 11 : Lukla - Kathmandu - Further
Destination : After braekfast
transfer to the domestic airport for flight
back to Kathmandu. Arrive Kathmandu and
have some rest and refreshment. Later transfer
to the international airport for flight
to you next destination.
