Day 02 : Delhi sightseeing

Later start sightseeing Delhi :
India’s capital & a major gateway
to the country, contemporary Delhi is a bustling
metropolis which successfully combines in
its fold the ancient & the modern. Its
strategic location was one of the prime reasons
why successive dynasties chose it as their
seat of power. New Delhi also reflects the
legacy the British left behind . The division
between New & Old Delhi is the distinction
between the capitals of the British &
the Moghuls respectively. So, wherever the
visitor goes, he will invariably confront
the citys’ past.
AM :Sightseeing of Old Delhi
including Red Fort: The red
stone walls of the fort extend from 2kms and
vary in height from 18m on the riverside to
33m on the city side. The hall of public audiences,
the hall of private audiences, the royal baths
and Moti Masjid built by
Aurangzeb for himself are important part of
the immense fort. Jama Masjid:
It is the largest mosque in India and the
final architectural extravagance of Shanjahan.
Raj Gath: The memorial of
Mahatma Gandhi where he was cremated after
his assassination.Lunch at the hotel / Local
restaurant.
PM : Sightseeing of New Delhi starts
from Lotus Temple - Bahai
House of Worship, a white marble building
built in great architechture with the fusion
of old & new styles. It is a very peaceful
place surrounded by nice graden; Qutab
Minar: The building complex dates
back to the onset of Muslim rule in India
and are fine examples of Afghan architecture.
Humayun’s Tomb : Built
by wife of Humayun, the second Mughal king.
It is an early example of Mughal architecture.
India Gate: The 42m high
stone "Arch of Triumph", erected
in the memory of Indian soldiers who died
in the First World War; Drive through Rajpath
"Kingsway" a VVIP area of Delhi
including Rashtrapati Bhawan; Laxmi
Narayan Temple: Garishly colored
modern temple is erected by the industrialist
Birla. This temple is dedicated to Laxmi -
the goddess of wealth and Narayan - Lord Vishnu,
husband of Laxmi.

Day 03 : Delhi - Dharamshala
Early morning after breakfast drive
to Dharamshala
Enjoy your day long bus ride through the countryside
of Northen India including the rich agricultural
land of Haryana and Punjab and scenic view
of Vyas river.
Arrive Dharamshala by the evening and check
in to hotel for overnight stay
Day 04 : Dharamshal and Mc Leodganj

Morning sightseeing of Dharamsala is better
known as Dalai Lama's abode and Tibet's Government-in-exile
after the Chinese invasion of Lhasa in October
1959. Dharamsala over looks the plains and
is surrounded by dense pine trees and Deodar
forests. A nearby snow line with numerous
streams and cool healthy atmosphere makes
the surroundings very attractive. There are
several places of tourist attractions in Dharamsala
that are worth visiting. We will start from
Macleodganj, a charming Tibetan settlement
with bustling bazaars that sell carpets, handicrafts
and delicious Tibetan food. Originally home
of the semi-nomadic Gaddi tribe, McLeodganj
is today the residence of His Holiness, the
Dalai Lama and the headquarters of the exiled
Tibetan Government.
The impressive monastery has larger than
life size images of Buddha, Padmasambhava
and Avaloketeshwara.
Bhagsu Nag Temple, a quiet temple lying beside
several pools where devout Hindus and monks
congregate to bathe is another attraction.
St John's Church, one of the most poignant
memories of the British Reign is the church
of St. John, situated in the wilderness. This
charmingly dressed stone church is located
just 5 miles away from Dharamsala on the way
to McLeod Ganj. Evening free to explore Mc
Leodganj market.

Day 05 : Dharamshala – Palampur
Tea Gardens – Baijnath Shiva Temple
- Manali (approx.254 kms)
Morning after breakfast drive to Manali
Manali is the most sought after Destination
of Kulu Valley. Also referred to as the "Valley
of the Gods", Manali is an important
hill station of northern India and is the
destination of thousands of tourists every
year.
On our journey towards Manali we will visit
en-route Palampur Tea Gardens
and stop to visit Baijnath Shiva Temple,
It is dedicated to Vaidyanath(Shiva).The Baijnath
in earlier times was known as "Kirgram"
the famous capital of Kiratas.This fact is
borne out by the sanskrit inscriptions in
sharada script on the stone slabs found in
the temple. This temple was built by two wealthy
brothers of Kiragram.The temple has a shiv
Linga enshrined in the grabhagrihas measuring
8 squares inside and surmounted by a spire
in the shikhara style. It was built in 1204
AD and was renovated by raja Sansar Chand
in the 19th Century..36 Kms east of Kangra
the famous Vaidyanath Shiva Temple
at Baijnathas a pyramid shaped roof
2 1/2 mts square from inside and 5 1/2 mts
square from outside. There are four artistic
big pillars supporting the roof of the Mandap.The
strong and sturdy build of the temple shows
the rare expertise of the Kangra artesian.
Continue drive to Manali. On arrival check
in to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 06 : Manali

Morning start sightseeing of Manali including
Hidamba Devi Temple : Manali
has many attractions but the chief center
of interest, historically and archeologically.
This temple located amidst wooden forest of
deodar. It is a pleasant experience to stroll
in the temple complex which was built in 1533
A.D. Vashist Hot Water Springs
and temples, a small village located on the
left bank of river Beas towards Rohtang pass
is worth a visit. It is renowned for its hot
springs and temples. Natural hot sulphur springs
with two separate bathing tanks for gents
and ladies are always full of tourists.
Evening walk through Manali market and also
visit to Tibetan Monastry and Tibetan Medicine
institure.. Overnight at hotel
Day 07 : Manali - Naggar excursion
(approx 35 kms)

Sightseeing in Nagar including Jagatsukh
Temple : Famous Shiva temple in Shikhara
style and an interesting old temple of Gyatri
Devi and Sharvali created by the Pandavas.
Naggar Castle : The castle
was the old capital of Kullu and built by
Raja Bhosal. Roerich Art Gallery
: An art gallery housed in the Naggar castle
with paintings of the famous Russian artist
Nicholas Roerich.

stay
Day 08 : Manali – Parvati Valley
- Mandi
Breakfas at hotel
Morning excursion through Parvati Valley to
Manikaran (approx 75 kms), this morning after
checking our from the hotel we will drive
through River Parvati Valley and enjoy the
spectacular views and adventurous drive to
reach Manikaran means 'jewel of the ear' and
according to legend a giant serpent stole
Lord Shiva's consort Parvati's earrings while
she was bathing. When Lord Shiva threatened
him, he snorted the jewels out from under
earth. Hot springs of water flowed from the
places where the jewels were thrown by the
snake. These hot springs are said to cure
a number of diseases and the water is so hot
that one can boil rice in it. Here are hot
sulphur springs which bubble next to the icy
waters of the Parvati river. The place is
revered by the both Hindus and Sikhs.
Evening we will drive to Mandi. On arrival
check in to hotel for overnight stay

Day 10 : Delhi - Jaipur (260
kms/4-5 hours)

Morning drive to Jaipur : The capital city
of the state of Rajasthan also know as "Pink
City" owes its name, its foundation
and planning to the great warrior astronomer
Maharaja Jai Singh II. The city of Jaipur
has broad avenues. The city sits on a dry
lake bed in a wild and somewhat arid landscape,
surrounded by barren hills surmounted by fortresses
and crenellated walls.
On arrival check in to hotel
PM : Sightseeing of Jaipur
includign Jantar Mantar
– the observatory built by Jai
Singh in 1728; the City Palace which
is a blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture.
It also has a museum with an extensive collection
of art, carpets, paintings, enamel ware and
weapons dating back to the 15th century.

Day 11 : Jaipur - Fatehpur Sikri
- Agra (appx 240 kms)

After breakfast, excursion to Amber
Fort enroute witness the façade
of Hawa Mahal or the Palace
of Winds which was built in 1799. Amber
Fort - The ancient capital of the state until
1727 when Jai Singh decided to move from his
hillside fortress at Amber to new site on
the plains. The construction of this fort
began in 1592 by Raja Man Singh, the Rajput
commander of Akbar’s army. The fort
is a superb example of Rajput architecture,
stunningly situated on a hillside and overlooking
a lake which reflects its terraces and ramparts.
Visit the Jagmandir or the hall of victory
glittering with mirrors, Jal Mahal
& temple of Kali. Ascend on elephant
back, the hill, on which the fort is situated.
Enjoy Elephant ride at Amber Fort
(upto the hills).
PM : Drive to Agra enroute visit the abandoned
Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri : built
by Emperor Akbar in 1569, was the old capital
of the Mughals, which was abandoned after
15 years due to scarcity of water. See the
graceful buildings including the Jama Masjid,
Tomb of Salim Chisti, Panch Mahal & other
Palaces which are still preserved in its original
glory.
Continue drive to Agra. Arrive Agra in the
evening and check-in at pre-booked hotel for
overnight stay.
Day 12 : In Agra
At the time of sunrise visit Taj Mahal, which
was constructed by Shah Jahan in memory of
his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Construction of the
Taj began in 1631 and was not completed until
1653.
Later start sightseeig of Agra city including
visit to Agra fort, which
was built by Emperor Akbar in 1565, and additions
were made up until the time of his grandson,
Shah Jahan. It contains the hall of public
and private audiences amongst many other beautiful
structures; Itmad-ud-daulah, which was constructed
by Nur Jahan between 1622 and 1628 and is
very similar to the tomb she constructed for
her husband, Jehangir, near Lahore in Pakistan.
Evening visit world famous Marble Workshops
and Mughal Handicraft Centers in Agra. Overnight

Day 13 : Agra - Delhi (210 kms/4-5
hours)

After visit t Sikandra continue drive to Delhi. On
arrival check in to hotel for overnight at
the hotel
Afternoon drive to Delhi
Arrive Delhi have dinenr at local restaurant
before final transfer to international airport
to board flight back home.
