India
– the land of natural
beauty, the home of all religions also known
as “Hindustan” and “Bharat”.
India is a country with vast prestigious history
that goes thousand years back. With the vast
geographical composition, in the north India
is bordered by the world’s highest mountain
range, the Himalayas and other three parts of
the country are guarded by the sea water. The
dense forests, snow covered mountains, rivers,
lakes and lush green valleys, plateaus, tropical
rain forests and sandy deserts and palm-fringed
beaches are always a cause of interest of peoples
all over the world.
The Indus Valley civilization
is considered as one of the oldest in the world.
The Aryan from northwest had invaded Indus Valley
about 1500 B.C. and their merger with the earlier
Dravidian inhabitants created the classical
Indian culture. Arab incursions starting in
the 8th century and Turkish in the 12th were
followed by those of European traders, beginning
in the late 15th century. By the 19th century,
Britain had assumed political control of virtually
all Indian lands. India got independence from
the British on the 15 August 1947. But India
got its real independence 26 January 1950 when
constitution of India first been functional.
This day is now celebrated as the Republic Day
of India. At present there are 28 states and
7 union territories.
Indian handicrafts, cloths,
leather garments, ornaments are a big attractions
for the peoples of all age group. This vast
country abounds in a variety of foods, clothes,
arts and faith. The village industry and the
city shopping centers have something typical
to offer to everything.
